PJRC – the Teensy boards
PJRC is a small company from Oregon, at the heart of which is the developer Paul Stoffregen. Since 2008 the Teensy boards have been created here – microcontrollers in miniature format that have earned a firm place in the maker scene wherever computing power and exact timing matter.
The Teensy 4.1, for example, runs an ARM Cortex-M7 at 600 MHz, making it one of the fastest microcontroller boards available at all. Added to this are USB host, Ethernet, an SD card slot and a large number of I/O pins in a very small footprint.
The platform is particularly strong in audio: the in-house Audio Library makes it possible to build synthesizers, effects units and samplers, assembling signal chains graphically. A Teensy also registers directly with a computer as a USB MIDI device, keyboard or mouse. Programming is done through the Arduino IDE with the Teensyduino add-on.
At BerryBase you will find Teensy boards and accessories for audio, MIDI, measurement and everything an Arduino is too slow for.
