Xeno-Energy – batteries for decades
Xeno-Energy is a South Korean manufacturer concentrating on one special battery type: lithium thionyl chloride cells, Li-SOCl2 for short.
These cells differ fundamentally from ordinary batteries. They deliver 3.6 volts instead of 1.5 volts, hold that voltage almost constant across nearly the entire discharge, and lose less than one percent of their capacity per year. On paper this makes runtimes of ten years and more possible.
That makes them indispensable for applications where changing a battery is expensive or impossible: water and gas meters, alarm systems, data loggers, medical devices and memory backup. They also work reliably in frost. Important: Li-SOCl2 cells are not rechargeable and need a buffer capacitor at high currents.
At BerryBase you will find Xeno batteries for long-term measurements, wireless sensors and devices with a service life of years.
