VÖLKEL is a German manufacturer of thread cutting tools with a history going back to 1889. The company produces taps, dies and accessories for cutting threads.
Particularly practical are the tap drills: they combine two operations in one tool. The tip drills the core hole at the correct diameter, and the following section cuts the thread – without changing tools and without working out which drill matches which thread. From M3 to M8 this covers the common sizes.
The material designation says what a tool is suited for: HSS-G is the standard for steel and non-ferrous metals, HSS-E with cobalt also holds up in stainless steel and tougher materials. The hex shank fits any bit holder.
