The Velleman hydraulic robot arm is a scientific construction kit that provides an introduction to the world of hydraulics. With 229 individual parts and detailed assembly instructions, assembly is explained step by step. This robotic arm does not require a battery or motor and moves solely by hydraulic power, making it ideal for STEM experimentation. Children aged 14 and over can playfully explore mechanics and hydraulics. The arm can be equipped with a gripper or a suction cup and can be controlled via a control panel, allowing various movement sequences to be realised. The kit is versatile and offers six axes with different movement functions.
With a vertical reach of 41.5 cm and a horizontal reach of 31.5 cm, the robot arm has a load-bearing capacity of up to 50 g. The gripper can move up to 4.5 cm. The gripper can open up to 4.8 cm, while the wrist allows 180° of rotation and 98° of manoeuvrability. The elbow has a range of motion of 44°, the foot rotation is 270° and the shoulder can be moved up to 45°. This construction set promotes creative and experimental learning and offers a safe introduction to technical and scientific topics.
