RFID NFC - Near Field Communication
Until now, NFC was mainly integrated into smartphones and was used, for example, to share content between devices or to make payments by mobile phone. In our shop you will find numerous articles based on NFC or RFID. Thanks to advancing digitalisation, the technology is finding more and more areas of application - both in our private everyday lives and in the business environment.
What is NFC?
NFC is the abbreviation for "Near Field Communication" and means "near field communication". The technology enables wireless communication between devices when they are in close proximity to each other - in contrast to conventional radio waves, which also work at greater distances.
The way NFC works is based on the RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) principle. Both technologies use electromagnetic fields to transmit information without establishing a connection. However, while RFID is only a pure transmission technology, NFC brings with it the possibility of interaction - by calling up websites or apps, for example.
All devices equipped with NFC have a small chip and an antenna - both necessary to send and receive data. NFC is a radio technology that makes it possible to exchange information over short distances between devices - without having to establish a connection.
NFC key fobs
NFC key fobs (also known as NFC tags or NFA) are small radio chips that can be attached to a key ring in a lock. These chips can transmit data by being brought into contact with another NFC-enabled device. This means that information on the tag is read via your mobile phone. This data can contain important information, such as address or phone number, and can therefore also be used as a digital business card. With NFC, photos and videos can also be stored on the tag. This way you always have a souvenir of your best moments with family or friends at hand. Or you can use an NFC key fob to transfer files from your computer to your mobile phone. This way you don't have to worry about losing or accidentally deleting your files.
An NFC keychain is also a great way to make your smartphone more secure. You can use your NFC key fob to create a password for your phone. This ensures that only you have access to your phone. Or you can use an NFC key fob to create a backup of your phone. This ensures that your data will not be lost if something happens to your phone.
There are many different things you can read with an NFC reader. For example, you can scan QR codes or read NFC tags. The things that can be read with the reader depend on the reader. With the NFC reader, you can read tags and get different information.
