Seeed GrovePi+ Starter Kit for Raspberry Pi
The GrovePi+ Starter Kit offers a comprehensive entry-level option for using Grove sensors and actuators with the Raspberry Pi. It contains a GrovePi+ expansion board and twelve selected Grove modules as well as ten Grove connection cables. Thanks to the standardised 4-pin connections, the Grove system enables simple plug-and-play integration without manual wiring or soldering.
The GrovePi+ expansion board is plugged directly onto the Raspberry Pi. Communication between the two units takes place via the I2C interface. Analogue and digital Grove modules can be connected directly to the ATMEGA328 microcontroller on the GrovePi+ via the universal Grove connections. This microcontroller acts as an interpreter between the Raspberry Pi and sensors: it receives, sends and executes commands coming from the Raspberry Pi.
GrovePi+ is CE-certified and supports the Linux and Windows 10 IoT operating systems. The expansion board is compatible with Raspberry Pi A+, B, B+, 2, 3 and 4. The starter kit does not include a Raspberry Pi motherboard.
The GrovePi+ Starter Kit is suitable for quickly building prototypes and electronic experiments with the Raspberry Pi. With the included selection of sensors and actuators, applications for environmental measurement, display output, signal processing and control can be realised. Typical areas of application include education, entry-level physical computing and the development of DIY or IoT projects.
The Grove system makes it easy to get started with electronics development, as modules can be connected without soldering. The central microcontroller reduces complexity as it controls the connected modules. The system is particularly suitable for learning purposes and rapid prototyping.
