Product information "Raspberry Pi NoIR Camera Module 8MP v2"

The Raspberry Pi HD Pi NoIR camera board can be connected to any Raspberry Pi or compute module, allowing you to create HD videos and still photos. The Pi NoIR (no infrared) is the same as the standard camera module, but without the IR filter. This makes it ideal for photography and video in the dark.
The module utilises Sony's IMX219PQ image sensor, which offers high-speed, high-sensitivity video recording.
The Pi NoIR module reduces image contamination such as fly screen effect and smearing. It also has automatic control functions such as exposure control, white balance and luminance detection

Features and benefits:

No IR filter
High quality images
High data capacity
8 megapixel fixed focus
Supports 1080p, 720p60 and VGA90
Sony IMX219PQ CMOS image sensor
15-pin ribbon cable

Connecting the Pi NoIR to your Pi:
A 15 cm ribbon cable on the module plugs directly into the serial interface (CSI) port of your Pi camera. Once the connection is established, you can access the camera board via the MMAL (Multi-Media Abstraction Layer) or the V4L API (Video for Linux). Alternatively, there are libraries such as Picamera Python and many others that you can find online.

Product applications:
The Pi NoIR camera module from Raspberry Pi is ideal for night-time HD video and still photography. When used with IR LEDs, you can see in the dark so you can monitor plant health or even nocturnal animals.

Raspberry Pi Foundation

Raspberry Pi – the single-board computer that changed everything

The Raspberry Pi was launched in 2012 by the Raspberry Pi Foundation in Cambridge, UK, with the aim of getting young people interested in computing. What began as an educational project has become one of the most successful computers of all time: tens of millions of units are used today in classrooms, living rooms, workshops and industrial installations.

The range extends from the powerful Raspberry Pi 5 and the compact Zero family to the Pico microcontrollers and the Compute Modules for embedded applications. Everything is backed by the free Raspberry Pi OS, extensive documentation and a huge global community.

BerryBase is an authorised Raspberry Pi reseller. Here you will find genuine boards, official accessories and everything you need for your next project.

So ganz ohne Optik.
