Under the name RaspBee II, dresden elektronik is launching an add-on module for the popular Raspberry Pi Zero, 1, 2B, 3B, 3B+ and 4B Single Board Controller. This shield opens up access to the ZigBee world for all Raspberry fans. Together with deCONZ for the Raspberry Pi and the ZigBee firmware, the combination of Raspberry Pi and RaspBee II becomes a LAN ZigBee gateway. This gives you further access to dresden elektronik's convenient lighting control system. RaspBee II offers you interesting software interfaces that allow you to develop your own software components at different levels for cooperation with ZigBee components of different profiles.

RaspBee II
The RaspBee II is already equipped with ZigBee firmware. The RaspBee II is equipped with a bootloader so that no additional programming adapters are required. You can find a command line tool for updating the firmware using the bootloader and the ZigBee firmware on the manufacturer's website. The development of customised firmware is expressly encouraged. A port for the MAC stack is offered, add-ons for prominent protocol stacks will follow. Together with the universal ZigBee software deCONZ, the Raspberry Pi becomes a lighting control centre. A download option for the firmware and further information on deCONZ for Raspbian Linux can be found on the manufacturer's website.
