Description
Product information "Pololu Zumo Raspberry Pi RP2040 robot, 75:1 HP geared motors, IMU sensors, quadrature encoder"
The Zumo 2040 is a versatile, user-programmable tracked robot based on the Raspberry Pi RP2040 microcontroller. This version includes two 75:1 HP Micro Metal geared motors, integrated motor controllers, quadrature encoders, line and proximity sensors, and a complete IMU system for motion detection and orientation sensing. The robot measures less than 10 cm x 10 cm and is suitable for mini sumo competitions. No soldering or assembly is required, just add 4 AA batteries and programme via USB-C.
The Zumo 2040 robot is a versatile tracked robot based on the Raspberry Pi RP2040 microcontroller. It is driven by 75:1 HP Micro Metal geared motors that convert rotary motion into high force, ideal for small robotic applications. These motors are connected to integrated motor controllers that enable precise control of movements.
The robot uses quadrature encoders to track the exact rotation and position of the motors, ensuring precise movement and control.
The Zumo 2040's IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) includes three important sensors:
Accelerometer, which measures the robot's movement and helps determine its speed.
Gyroscope, which measures the rotational speed and monitors the orientation of the robot.
Magnetometer, which helps the robot to determine its orientation relative to the Earth's magnetic field, similar to a compass.
In addition, the robot is equipped with proximity and line follower sensors that detect obstacles and help the robot to orientate itself and avoid obstacles.
The Zumo 2040 is programmable in C, C++, Arduino or Python, allowing for flexible customisation and control. This makes it ideal for mini-Sumo competitions and learning projects. It is easily programmed via a USB-C connection and requires no external programming or soldering.
