Under this name, toggle switches for mounting in front panels and enclosures are listed.
The designations state exactly what a switch does. SPDT means one changeover contact: the lever connects the centre terminal either to one side or the other. DPDT does the same thing twice in parallel, for instance to switch both conductors of a connection at once.
The bracket in the notation ON-(ON) marks a momentary position: in that direction the lever springs back by itself as soon as it is released – practical for functions that should only run as long as they are held.
