To explore even more possibilities with the micro:bit, we have now combined it with DFRobot's Boson modules, a set of modularised electronic blocks suitable for any child to begin their hands-on journey of creation.
DFRobot's Boson Starter Kit for micro:bit contains 8 selected modules covering the most popular digital and analogue sensors and actuators, supporting interaction with sound, light and motion. The modules communicate with the micro:bit via a 3-pin interface and are perfectly compatible with the Microsoft MakeCode JavaScript online editor and the Python editor. The micro:bit expansion board for Boson is used to connect Boson modules to micro:bit. The expansion board has an edge connector, 6 foolproof 3-pin sockets, a 3.5MM headphone connection and a volume control. To ensure a consistent power supply to the motor and servo, the expansion board can be powered externally via the USB power connector.
Note: The USB power connector CANNOT be used to upload programs.
To help you easily understand how to use each module, the boson kit for micro:bit comes with a quick start guide that includes 4 basic projects with wiring and example codes. Go through the instructions and create your own invention!
