M5Stack Atom: Compact development boards for your IoT project
M5Stack Atom is a particularly small development board. With its development system of the same name, the company M5Stack has created a tool that is as modern as it is user-friendly. In combination with various expansion modules, it is very well suited for programming intelligent IoT applications and smart home devices. The M5Stack Core2 controller or the M5Stack Fire are often used for this. However, if you prefer a particularly compact development board with LEDs for controlling your system, we recommend the M5Stack Atom series. Besides the M5Stack Atom Matrix, the M5Stack Atom Lite is a popular model.
M5Stack Atom Lite and M5Stack Atom Matrix: This is the advantage of the small development boards
The M5Stack Atom Lite and M5Stack Atom Matrix, which measure just 24 x 24 millimetres, are predestined for versatile use in the IoT sector, not least thanks to their six GPIOs (general purpose input/output). This is because a wide variety of sensors and actuators can be connected to the development board via the connections. At the heart of the devices is the ESP32-PICO, a powerful chipset that is equipped with a WiFi and Bluetooth interface and has a 4 MB SPI flash memory on board. Programs can be uploaded and executed on both boards via a USB-C interface.
The only differences are in a handful of features. For example, the M5Stack Atom Lite has an infrared LED, an RGB LED and an HY2.0 interface, while the M5Stack Atom Matrix is equipped with an IMU sensor (MPU6886) and a 5x5 RGB LED matrix.
