With direct contact to the CPU via the integrated heatsink, the Raspberry Pi benefits from both active and passive cooling - with the option to control the fan via software and the onboard switch.
The hardware switch on the front of the fan offers three settings - ON, OFF and PWM. This allows the fan to be optimised for different scenarios, such as quiet operation, ultimate cooling performance or balanced temperature-based cooling.
By editing the software settings, it is possible to determine when the fan starts based on the temperature of the CPU (in PWM mode). The fan also only occupies the first 12 of the 40 GPIO pins, allowing for greater project flexibility than some other fan options.

Habe den Lüfter zusammen mit dem Argon Poly+-Gehäuse bestellt. Habe mir aber davon mehr versprochen.
Der Zusammenbau war einfach. Danach habe ich in der Datei config.txt wie in dem Anleitungszettel die Lüftereinschalttemperatur auf 55 Grad gesetzt. Reboot und danach erst eine Weile den Pi4 im Leerlauf laufen lassen. Dann habe ich ein Schachprogramm mit der Schach-Engine Stockfish mit 4 Threats gestartet, d.h. der Pi 4 lief mit 100% auf allen vier Kernen. Bei 55 Grad schaltete der Lüfter ein und nach ca. 30 Minuten erreichte die CPU eine max. Temperatur von 73,5 Grad. Danach beendete ich das Schachprogramm und schloss alle Programme. Dann nach ca. 25 Minuten schaltete sich der Lüfter bei einer CPU-Temperatur von 47 Grad dann endlich wieder ab. Fazit: Verbesserungswürdiges Produkt. Raue Oberfläche der Kühlerauflagefläche. Zu viel Plastik im Mittelteil des Gehäuses (Wärmestau), insgesamt für mich eine nicht zufriedenstellende Kühlleistung.

Der Ventilator kühlt vernünfig...
Der Ventilator kühlt vernünfigt, wenn er einmal läuft. Hinsichtlich des Schwellwertes gibt es allerdings Diskrepanzen: Der Hersteller schägt 55°C vor, während raspiOS einen Wert niedriger als 60°C in raspi-config nicht akzeptiert. Allerdings beträgt beim Schwellwert die Abweichung ca. 20 %, d.h. ich habe beobachtet, dass der Ventilator bei 65°C noch nicht und bei 45°C noch immer läuft ...
